A Happy New Year to everyone. May all your resolutions last beyond the end of the month, and your wishes for 2010 come true......

As the year opens into a new decade a lot seems to have changed as I look back at the old year.
There seems to be moderation in the air, less celebrity and more reality. Less throw away, more keeping and making the most of what we have.

It's certainly a time to stay indoors. I think freshly falling snow is beautiful but we soon turn into moaners when it interferes with our daily lives. Maybe we will get into the European habit of having a pair of walking boots, winter tyres on our cars etc. with ample supplies of salt for the gritters - then maybe we would enjoy it more!

I was given several books for Christmas and not being able to get out is the perfect excuse for reading. I am looking forward to getting stuck into Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel as soon as I have finished Elizabeth Gilbert's new book Committed.
For those of you who never read her previous book Eat, Pray, Love I thoroughly recommend it.

Looking past the sale rails at the upcoming Spring/Summer colours the palette seems to be
pale gold, pale coral and white. Very soft yet fresh colours that would look beautiful with a special piece from Coral and Cinnabar.

Keep warm!
